This was the first one I was able to attend.  I had a great time and it was fun to sit with some of the players and see them cut up and have fun.  The program is put together very well and the videos really get you pumped up.  September yet?

Agree with you wholeheartedly.  I BULLIEVE we have about 45 more days until the Spring game......and can not wait!

Went to last year's banquet as well.  The only comment I can make is that the food, which was plentiful, wasn't quite up to last year's standard.  I do know that Outback was going to do the catering for the 2006 awards banquet, like they did last year, but when it was cancelled because of Keeley's death, they were unable to do it last night.  Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the food was bad, because it wasn't, but Outback did an awesome job last year and I'm a little spoiled.

September can't come soon enough!!!!!

GO BULLS!!!!

From the Best I can recall, and some awards had special names I just can't remember:

Offensive Rookie of the Year - Grothe

Defensive Rookie of the Year - Selvie

Offensive MVP - Grothe (voted on by players)

Defensive MVP - Nicholas (voted on by players)

Special Teams POY - Randolph (wasn't in attendance)

Academic Athlete of the Year - Severino

Walk On POY - Williams and Padillia (I think)

Golden Bull (Hardest Worker in Conditioning) - Peguese

There were a few others, but I am under the weather and can't recall and I don't feel like going out to the car to get the program (which was very nice looking BTW).

Best on Defensive Front 7 : Moffit

Best in Secondary - Trae Williams

Best O Line - Jared Carnes (I believe, but I might be confused)

Dile won an award for showing heart and playing injured (forget the name of the award)

I met Peguese at the Raleigh airport and was amazed at the size of the true freshman.  He also happened to be the most delightful young man to speak to and he was very excited to be back in his home state and root on the Bulls from the sidelines.

The video they showed of Peguese in the weight room.....WOW!!! Can you say PHYSICAL SPECIMEN? The kid looks like he might be something special.

I was fortunate enough to get to sit with Delbert Alvarado's family. What a nive family and a great kid. It was cool getting to talk to him about his 56 yard field goal against the 'Cuse. Niether he, nor his parents, could believe it when leavitt told him to go out there and kick the ball. I guess that is the best way, don't give the kicker much time to think about it.

Carnes best o-lineman? Maybe Im mistaken but didnt he struggle mightily at least in the first half of season? I would think Dile was our most consistent hog.
