Cal- Eh, if our D from this year shut them down, our D next year should blanket them

UF- First real game for Tebow, and severla new starters, i like our chances more than not

Bama- Still a couple years away from being a real threat in the SEC

You also have to consider the chances of getting to go to the NC... where would the voters rank an unbeaten USF team?  would it be similar to what Boise got last year? unbeaten, but not playing for the NC... an unbeaten, maybe even a 1 loss Arizona team, right or wrong, could be ranked ahead of the Bulls and thus a shot at the NC as opposed to where the voters rank USF

You echo my sentiments exactly.  That is why I say at best we could hope to be in the top 20 at the end of 2007 and maybe the top 10 in 2008.  2009 or 2010 would be more realistic; assuming we win convincingly the games we are supposed to win, and win some of those game we aren't expected to win.

If the Bulls exit Auburn undefeated and run the table in the Big East they would more than likely end up in the national title game.  The odds of this happening and actually winning the title game are low but that's why the play the games.

Losing a monster of a starting defensive lineman in the offseason does not help their chances either.

My national championship prediction would be for 2009 at the earliest....still need to win a Big East title first.

GO Bulls!!!!!!!!!!

No way, a one loss SEC team, OSU, UM, FSU, Texas, OU, Cal etc. would still be much more highly ranked than USF would

It would be nearly impossible for a team that starts the season unranked to climb to the national championship, especially form the Big East which still has not fully shed the weak image from the conference moves.

If the hype from places like nationalchamps.net stays, we will be in the top 25 pre-season.

Think you are wrong there.  First I think it is silly having a discussion about being undefeated but since it is already started.

USF starts the season rnaked in some polls and just outside the top 25 in many others.

Beat a ranked Auburn team at Auburn and USF will be in the top 25.

At least two more ranked teams on the schedule and one being early in the season they would fly up the rankings.

Maybe the SEC, but if you seriously think the ACC is more competitive than the BE to merit a 1-loss team jumping an undefeated team you're insane.  Depending on the rotation, the same could be said for the bit 12 (although that more counts for the north).  And the Big 10?

You know, most objective ways to rank conferences put the big east in the top 3 conferences last year.  On top of this, our OOC is actually useful because beating Auburn would get us the ranking we needed early on...but if we lose to them we can stop thinking about NC and focus on cheering for the BE title.

It DOES kind of suck that we will be playing about 3-4 ranked teams though.
