I noticed on the Rivals board for UNC that most of them are writing it off as a loss, aside from the crazy fan here or there who thinks they can definitely go 4-0 to start the season. For the most part, they're expecting us to be a force to be reckoned with next season

That is my impression of their posts.

Just one fans opinion. Alot of us are going to put Auburn as a win for us next year, and alot of Auburn fans are going to laugh at us.

izzo, what does the Auburn game have to do with the North Carolina game?

This thread deals with what the NC posters are saying regarding USF.

In response to your quote, though, Auburn is going to be a hard fought game.  Win, lose or draw (of course there can't be a draw) USF will make a good showing.  Ideally, winning that game is what puts us firmly in the top 25.

Well let me try again.... NC fans feel that an underdog team (proven last year) will beat a team that is clearly the favorite. There will be posters on this board who will say the same thing regarding the USF-Auburn game. We (USF) are going to be the huge underdogs, but there will still be faith to beat the favorites (Auburn).

Just like how two years ago all the talk was how we were going to go down to Miami and walk out with a win. Or go up to NC for our first bowl game and do the same. We all saw those outcomes.

What ONE fan says regarding his team is irrelevant. Nothing better for you to do then check all of our upcomming opponents message boards? Does FAU smell an upset as well?

The only difference is, we didn't have Auburn come to our house this year and really hand it to us with a young team that is only going to get better.

I agree Rizzo.

I also agree with him, but would change:

What ONE fan says regarding his team is irrelevant.

to:

What most if not all fans say online regarding the outcome of future games is mostly if not totally irrelevant.

Yes, in all probability most of their fans aren't avid online posters, but it is fun to see the posts.  Of course, any post which boosts our BULLS is always nice to see.

I agree we have to go into any contest at the top of our game.  No, we can't take any game for granted, and I am not saying we have to beat NC, but they are coming into OUR HOUSE..........I like our odds.

I will be doing just what you said, izzo, going to the other boards as well.

I have observed, from what I've seen on other boards, we have a much more "thinking" group of posters here.

GO BULLS

Found this on CFN:  http://cfn.scout.com/2/614129.html

North Carolina

Realistic best case record with this schedule: 8-4

Barring total disaster worst case record: 4-8

Realistic record: 5-7

It's as good a schedule as new head man Butch Davis could reasonable ask for starting out with three games (James Madison, at East Carolina and Virginia) that are all winnable, while the second half of the year isn't bad helped by the yearly tussle with Duke to close things out. Of special note will be a home date on October 6th when Davis welcomes in his old program, Miami.

2007 Schedule

Sept. 1 James Madison

Sept. 8 at East Carolina

Sept. 15 Virginia

Sept. 22 at South Florida

Sept. 29 at Virginia Tech

Oct. 6 Miami

Oct. 13 South Carolina

Oct. 27 at Wake Forest

Nov. 3 Maryland

Nov. 10 at NC State

Nov. 17 at Georgia Tech

Nov. 24 Duke

- Almost certain win

- Likely loss

- Could go either way

Edit: These colors are hard to figger out =/
