UNC005:  Yeah, I don't think we should count on South Florida as anything close to a guaranteed win. They defeated West Virginia at West Virginia last year and have a good portion of their team coming back. Of course they also handled us with little problem.

olehickory:  USF is a very good team. It would be a real surprise to win that one.

olehickory:  The four game stretch of USF, Va Tech, SC, and Miami is as brutal as we have had in recent memory. All four of those teams could very well be ranked when we play them. A split would be an amazing accomplishment.

holdemheels:  Win loss record for 2007

Sept. 1 James Madison We win 27 - 6

Sept. 8 at East Carolina We win 24 - 14

Sept. 15 Virginia We win 21 - 13 3-0 1-0

Sept. 22 at South Florida We win 20 - 17     LOL

Sept. 29 at Virginia Tech We lose 13 - 28

Oct. 6 Miami We win 21 - 20 5

Oct. 13 South Carolina We win 24 - 21

Oct. 20 Open

Oct. 27 at Wake Forest We win 31 - 21

Nov. 3 Maryland We win 28 - 19 8

Nov. 10 at NC State We win 35 - 13

Nov. 17 at Georgia Tech We lose 24-17

Nov. 24 Duke We win 42 - 10

STUARTARHEEL:

Looks very tough after our opener. The next 6 game will all could go either way.

ECU They will get us all we want. Just ask West Virginia

Virginia Thank God we are playing them at home!

S.Florida They will be even better next season.

Chokies I don't have to tell anyone how hard this one will be to win.

Miami I didn't think we ever got to play them at home?

South Carolina The old ball coach comes to town.

If we can make it through those 6 with a few win. I could see us winning our last 5.

GO HEELS!!!!

MAMA_BULL:  He's got to be kidding.

sheedfan77:  IMO next year looks to be VT's year, returning 8 off/8 def starters.

As far as our schedule, it's still pretty tough. USF and ECU are probably a lot better than their reputations. It's nice to have the USouC and ECU games on the schedule for the fan rivalries in those areas.

I do love reading those posts.   LOL

Just one fans opinion. Alot of us are going to put Auburn as a win for us next year, and alot of Auburn fans are going to laugh at us.

I wouldn't necessarily agree with that.   Although they now have Butch Davis coaching, it will probably take two years or so for him to get that team into competing shape.

izzo, what does the Auburn game have to do with the North Carolina game?

This thread deals with what the NC posters are saying regarding USF.

In response to your quote, though, Auburn is going to be a hard fought game.  Win, lose or draw (of course there can't be a draw) USF will make a good showing.  Ideally, winning that game is what puts us firmly in the top 25.

Them beating us, Miami, and South Carolina in a 4 game stretch is crazy. Especially since they come to our house. They can ask Louisville, winning here is not an easy thing to do, no matter how good you are.

Absolutely in agreement with you on this.

I have stated in another post that the games that concern me are the Rutgers, Auburn and Connecticut games.  They are all away games and Rutgers and UCONN are probably going to be in very cold weather.

I noticed on the Rivals board for UNC that most of them are writing it off as a loss, aside from the crazy fan here or there who thinks they can definitely go 4-0 to start the season. For the most part, they're expecting us to be a force to be reckoned with next season

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
