Its the nature of the business especially with assistant coaches.  The timing doesn't help though.

Hate to say it, but WV just hit our weakness. Our athletic budget is not up to par as other D-1 schools and that will take some time to do.

Solution: just win.

I'm not too crushed at the thought of Rod Smith leaving. I wasn't a big fan of his at it was.

New blood will bring new ideas.  Not a bad thing overall.

Greg posted this on his blog today.

USF loses Frey to West Virginia

USF has lost its third football assistant in the past month as offensive line coach Greg Frey has left the Bulls to take the same position at Big East rival West Virginia.

USF will promote graduate assistant Mike Simmonds, the long-time Jefferson High coach, to take over Frey's position as offensive line coach.

Adios, Rod.  Take your "Voodoo 5" with you and don't let the door hit you in your moon-shaped head on the way out.

Frey leaving is a bummer though.

Amen to that! I see this as an opportunity for USF to change for the better. GO BULLS!
