Band Funding

Yes, you're exactly right.  We're still in production/copyright purgatory.  We have released a few of our 'standard' tracks for FREE download.  You can get them at:  http://band.arts.usf.edu/media.htm

The latest plan is to release a CD with all the USF stuff we have, with just a few other tracks that aren't year specific (no halftime shows).  With this setup, we could make a large order to keep the cost down.

The real issue holding up this project is the source of funding to pay for the 'up front' costs of  production.  Even though we're fairly sure we'll sell whatever we order, the powers-that-be (understandably) aren't very excited about taking that kind of chance.

As usual - we'll keep you updated on any developments.

Yep, like I've said before, I'd buy two or three CD's if you guys did one.  I'd pay $12-$15 bucks apiece for 'em, too.

Schnetty, I told Dr. R before, if I could get just some of the band for the Tailgate, why couldn't they preform a "pay for play" gig there?  When you talk about fundraising, I think the 200+ people who showed last season for the event would just eat it up.   I mean crap,  you could also auction just about anything BULLS (old unis', sashes, equipment...) and people would buy it, especially king of the band geeks like Zonald.       Just an idea...       -mutt

A CD is where it's at....why can't they solve the copyright issues and whatever else it is that's holding it up?
