GREENVILLE, N.C. - During halftime of the University of South Florida’s men’s basketball game at East Carolina Saturday, members of the Pirates’ football team were recognized on the court. Coach Skip Holtz thanked the crowd at the Minges Coliseum for their support and encouraged them to make the trip to Birmingham for the Papajohns.com Bowl. Then Holtz gave the microphone to senior CB Kasey Ross.

Ross, who played at Gainesville High School, also thanked the crowd for their support. Before leaving, though, Ross finished his short pep talk by telling the crowd to “come to Birmingham or watch us on TV as we kick South Florida’s behind.â€Â

With that quote, I’m heading on vacation this week. The blog will return from Birmingham the week of the Papajohns.com Bowl. Happy holidays.

"We Are Marshall" opens Friday, Dec. 22.  I cannot think of a better motivational tool than this movie to light a fire under our boy's arses to kick some purple pirate butt!!!
