Leavitt knows that the longer his names hangs out there the more it will be used against him in recruiting. So i expect him to can the rumors as he has done already.

Miami will NOT give him the job, as it is Shannon the DC will leave UM if he is not given the job and there is talk here of Shannon being HC and bringing in Shula as his offensive coordinator. They cant afford to lose Shannon with all his contacts in the city.

they have already basically said its going to be shannon because he has the "support" of the players.

miami recruits so much on word of mouth.  their current players talk to their younger high school teammates and its a pipeline.

shannon also has a lot of recruiting ties in the miami area.

According to some people that doesn't mean anything. go figure.

Sorry for doubting you, but just do a quick google news search on Jim Leavitt and all the stories you will find are him saying how much he likes his current job and has no interest in any other jobs.  With some people I would say that doesn't mean much, with CJL I would bet my house he stays at South Florida.

Could be wrong, but I doubt it.

The number 1 thing that can be said about Leavitt's loyalty to the program is that he is still here.

I honestly expect either Shannon to step up at Miami.  I'd also like to see Schula get a new job right away.  Alabama boosters just dropped a 100 pound plate on the football team's foot.  Actually, that's how the program got into trouble in the first place.  Nobody has beaten Bama more than its boosters.  Way to ruin tradition...
