The point is that Strong didnt have to give the finger to the student section. There are other ways that you can taunt the crowd without making an obscene gerster like he did. The player has to remember that he is representing the university when he puts on that uniform. Many Pitt fans are embarrassed from his actions which is understandable. Sure, I know that the kid was frustrated because Pitt was getting beat up on the field, but there is no execuse to do that. I remember when BB Waldon flipped the bird to the Tenn crowd up in Knoxville after he fouled out of the game. I believe Seth suspended him for a game if I can recall that.

I've been in Shoop's section, and he's a great heckler.  Creative, but rarely blatantly offensive.

DW did the right thing. That gesture was totally uncalled for and the players need to play the pla game.  They represent the university!!!!!
