I couldn't help but bring up the hypocrisy in complaining about the security at the games.  The reason being: it's not our property.  I've been reading threads on here about how much people LOVE being in RJS, and that we dont need our own on-campus stadium, but with all the amenities of an NFL stadium comes the politics of playing in a stadium that isn't ours.  I guess most of the fans on this message board can't seem to remember that when they are quick to shoot down any notion of an on-campus stadium.

This thread isn't created to start an on-campus stadium debate.  But to keep whining about not being able to stand at games and having TSA cops trying to pacify crowds is moot.  We have no control over these authorities, and it's part of the deal we accepted by playing in Glazer's house.  We are renting out someone else's property-- and by that, we abide by their rules.  Until we get our own stadium with our own cops, there really is nothing we can do about it.  Yes, it sucks, but this is what we signed up for, regardless of if we didn't read the fine print.  Just lean back in that chairback that you so desperately exclaimed about, and cheer on with your beer in that drink holder that you demanded when you signed up to play in RJS.  Take the good with the bad and enjoy.

The complaints aren't that the cops have terrible rules, but that they are too quick to enforce the small things.  I know there are a lot of students that get drunk and disrespect the police, but they don't need to throw people out for dumb things.

You don't throw someone out for standing on a seat without prior notice.  I know that's not a written rule, but it ought to be.

I've seen plenty of students escorted out for starting fights, and I feel that's pretty much the only reason the cops are there.

Yes, it sucks... but there is nothing we can do.  We can argue with the Glazers, and then what?  Get evicted?  We gotta play by their rules until we get a house of our own to make up the rules.

There have been similar problems in Tampa for decades.   This is nothing new.    Cops are human and they make mistakes and sometimes some Cops are a little heavy handed.   I saw people get clubbed for getting to close to the wall at the old Tampa Stadium when LeRoy was playing.

RJS is owned by the community, so yes it is our stadium.  The Glazers are just tenants in our stadium.

;D

That's a hoot.  You know, it may say that somewhere on some document, but you've got to be pretty naive to believe that is REALLY the case.  The Glazers get BOATLOADS of money from the USF home games (parking, concessions, up-front cash, etc.).

So yeah, it's pretty much the Glazers' stadium that the community pays for.  They really took the city of Tampa for a ride.

Seriously.  Their stadium, their rules.  Until we get our own, we gotta stop complaining about how someone else runs their house.

Riiiiiiight. The guy controls almost everything with that stadium, despite what the agreement between the county and the Glazers says it's the Bucs' Stadium that the community funded.

Any questions on who rules the stadium, look at ...

1.painting the field

2. The giant billboards outside the stadium of players

3. Billboards of Home of the Buccaneers.

4. I could go on. If it were such a community stadium, wouldn't the signs read home of the NFL Buccaneers and the Big East USF Bulls?  Community stadium, my arsk. And to top it off, we have to pay to play there. Do the Bucs, Heck no! The only community is the community of Glazer pocket.    Reaper

how did your politicians go for this

LA has consistently told nfl and their owners we will not pay for a stadium

what makes you think usf would treat their property different than glazers
