I am guessing Delbert Alvarado would have been the subject of many headlines and would be having a pretty bad week had we not ended up winning against UCF. For the life of me I can not figure out what someone who could hardly kick the ball 35yds during pregame was thinking trying to kick the ball while running and holding off a defender. I am just glad, as I am sure he is, that we won and I hope in the future he just keeps running or falls on the ball.

Yeah, that was pretty weak, but he's a young kid.  A true freshman, no?  Kids are going to make mistakes.

Let's just hope it never, ever ever happens again!   :)

That was almost like I was watching a nightmare take place in front of me.

Yeah can we hold like an open try out for the student body to come punt or something?  Im sure there are former high school punters or soccer players that can do better.  Our punting situation is horrible.

didnt this kid get a scholarship to kick too? for a scholarship kicker, he should be able to do better than under 35 yards per kick

It'd probably help him out if every snap wasn't 6 inches off the ground...

Not making excuses, just saying.  Snaps have been low all year...

in all fairness, he hasnt gotten many punts off yet (not all his fault), and how many punts were inside the 20, because that can throw off an average.

Yeah you beat me to it.  It wasn't entirely his fault.  I am not making excuses for him because the ball was still playable.  That was a horrible snap.  As soon as I saw the ball coming back and saw how low it was I said "Oh NO", and then it happened.  I'll agree though, I haven't been too impressed with our kicking so far this year.
