I don't think we would.  Kansas is doing about as well as us, narrowly escaping defeat or losing to toledo.  To get any votes apart from the one we got last year from JL we've got to beat Kansas and Rutgers.

not to sound like smazza, but we haven't beaten anyone noteworthy so far. Kansas would be a nice win because they are Big 12 but they are not going to push us over the top. 5-0 and maybe we get a vote or two since that would mean we beat Rutgers.

But realistically--- I don't see our team as top twenty five material this season. Close but not quite there. Maybe it was the Gators destroying UCF so easily and then USF kind of struggling to win the game. I'd like to finish the year in the top 25 but I will be more than happy with

1) a winning record

2) a bowl trip

3) good recruiting results and no more controversy

12 teams outside of top 25 got votes this week.  25+12 = 37.

we are now 40th, 53rd last week.  

all we did was beat UCF.

kansas is big 12 team.

even teams like TCU and Boise that play very few good teams are ranked.

winning is only important part of being ranked.

we get votes with kansas.

close to being ranked if we beat nearly, and possibly, ranked Rutgers.

definitely got votes the 8-win year that should have been a bowl berth, having beaten 2 bowl teams.  would have been this year with same opponents considering the plethora of bowl games now.

the closest i can remember to us ever getting ranked is in Blackwells senior year we peaked at 1st or 2nd in the others receiving votes

When I read this subject line I wasn't sure if I should laugh or cry. We went 9-2 and didn't get a bowl game or any respect. So going 4-0 with one of those wins againt McNeese is not going to turn any heads or get any votes.
