Mall crime is unbearable and nobody shops there anymore. Anyway, I was returning from seeing a eye specialist doctor located at Fletcher & North, and decided to pass by one of my old apartm't complexes during my stay at Fowler U located at 131 n 22 behind the mall & the VA Hospital.  Yikes is all I can say.  Does anyone know the name of the pizza restaurant with a drive through on the NE corner of that intersection?  Was that Gumpy's Pizza?  Its now a boarded up Farm Store. The 7Eleven on 131 I used to get Super Big Gulps on Sat./Sun. afternoon for a caffiene fix to study the rest of the day is a mom & pop shop now.  The ctiy/Co. built a huge bus stop just east of 22nd (Livingston n 131 I think).  I bet I road my bike up and down 131 a million times in the 3 yrs I lived at the Way apartm'ts (different name now).  Not to sure I'd attempt it today as a 23 yr old.  Fletcher looks that same between 30th n Nebraska but University Hospital looks like something out of the 50's architecture.  On Fowler, Ryan's buffet is some weird named restaurant but I did see that Gladstones is still in place.  The whole trip back in time made me want a piece of CDBs pizza.

MMMM those pokey sticks were the best. Its amazing how that area hsa changed, I personally cannot believe I used to live in some of the dumps i used to live in like UTA, Palm Lakes, the Excellence, etc. These new breeds have all these Melrose looking places. I may be a little jealous of their places, but not of their parties, because back in the day you could pack out the courtyard of any complex with kegs and have no problems...now a gathering of 10 or more people calls for police assistance. As for the Mall, if its for athletic purposes I say do it. That mall is outdated and filled with store I dont think anyone would shop at...like Mr. Man. Anyone seen that store....hilarious. It seems like Tampa has always had a mall on the ropes and University has been that mall for awhile. I remember 1st it was Florida Land mall, then it was East Lake mall, then Tampa mall. If and when Cypress Creek gets built, University will be gone.
