GULF 21, NATURE COAST 12 (18-08-06)

Voss was 12-for-17 with 212 yards. He rushed for 28 yards on six carries.

Quarterback Alton Voss' only interception was on a ricocheted pass and the referees waved off what appeared to be a pass interference penalty on the Sharks in the end zone.

he had no time to throw all night, and a few big drops.  He didn't want to but the coach had to force him to start running to have any chance to win the game.

He was the leading rusher of the game, had like 125 yards on probably 15 carries, a real amazing display on the field.  His passing was sharp, just no time to throw.  Best athlete on the field, well Williamson is too but he looked rusty.

South Florida:  Alton Voss (New Port Richey, Fla./Gulf), the No. 4-rated quarterback in Florida, is a nice early pickup. The Bulls' early total of only three verbals will increase if they can duplicate last year's success in the Big East.

little low on the verbal estimate, but is Voss really the #4 QB in Florida?

I think now with the addition of  Alton Voss to the South Florida Bulls football for 2007 it now brings a QB contreversy because Alton at 6'3 220 and Matt Grothe at 6'1 190, maybe Alton will have the reins given over to him his freshmen year...and this is my reason why...1. Alton is just as much of a running QB as Grothe and probably a lil bit better even cause of sizeand speed ( ran a 4.55 40 at USF)...2. I've seen his throws and his arm strength and I've seen Grothe's arm strength and Alton wins that category and with college coaches helping Alton it should be no problem for him to adjust...3rd reason is Alton has the Quarterback build almost identical to Tim Tebow ( Florida Gator's QB#15) and if that is any indication towards anything that can mean good things for the South Florida Bulls in the future if they use Alton Voss at QB.
