The 40,000 seat stadium for U Conn cost $90 million, paid by the state of Connecticut (it was originally part of a larger plan to bring the Patriots to Hartford, when that fell through the stadium was downsized and other projects were added to the $300+ million bond that was issued)...

So yes, any real stadium will cost much more than $50 million...

Does anyone know where the new stadium will be placed on UCF's campus, I was out there with a friend (a UCF student) and it looks like theres a lot of land to build on out there.

turkeysoup is like a shock jock...he couldn't care less about USF...just likes poking at 'em.  He's a lot like cee (if not cee under a new name).  Presents himself as though he has some connection to USF when in fact no one that really supports the school would say the things he does.  

He really is to be ignored.

But seriously on the OCS, I commend UCF for starting something.  We will too...right now their football need is their overwhelming need...that is not the case at USF.  So would I settle for a basement bargain erector stadium now or wait for a better funded, nicer stadium when the need fully arrives?  I'll take the latter and find comfort in other well overdue facilities upgrades around campus.

Just to add,

UCF is a lot farther (and a few tolls) from the Citrus Bowl (18 miles v. 10 miles)

The Citrus Bowl is severely outdated and the city/county was lolygaging putting a plan for improvement together

I want an OCS, just not feasible at the time being.

The trashing of UCF's new stadium is funny.  Especially since it isn't even built yet.

But soon you will come to see that what some call an "erector" set, will be the same thing most USF fans will covet.
