How about instead of building an on campus stadium we convince the city to build a monorail from USF to downtown Tampa and from USF to the stadium and the airport.

Any thoughts.

Update: I may not be that nuts with this idea:

Looks like from just USF, to MOSI, to Busch Gardens, to the Hospital will cost 8 million, and they only have 2 right now.  But it could be pretty interesting.  If done right, it could remove the need for some of the buses on campus.  Hopefully USF at least looks into it.

University of Miami students get to the Orange Bowl that way I believe.

Why is it everytime a city proposes a monorail (Orlando tried this when I was a kid) they are like we have 20 Million, now we're looking for you guys to approve SIXTY million. Just doesn't ever seem like the brighest way to get voter's support.

And then there is that episode of the Simpsons...

How about we rent the shuttles from Busch Gardens to move students down to RJS.  I think that would be cheap and affordable mass transportation.

Why not? Monorails put Brockway, North Haverbrook and Ogdenville on the map.

Minotaur: Well, sir, there's nothing on earth

like a genuine,

Bona fide,

Electrified,

Six-car

Monorail!

What'd I say?

Leavittation: Monorail!

Minotaur: What's it called?

smazza and lotsobull: Monorail!

Minotaur: That's right! Monorail!

[crowd chants `Monorail' softly and rhythmically]

Bullygurly: I hear those things are awfully loud...

Minotaur: It glides as softly as a cloud.

Apu: Is there a chance the track could bend?

Minotaur: Not on your life, my Hindu friend.

BullOnly: What about us brain-dead slobs?

Minotaur: You'll be given cushy jobs.

Cyberbull: Were you sent here by the devil?

Minotaur: No, good sir, I'm on the level.

GarySJ: The ring came off my pudding can.

Minotaur: Take my pen knife, my good man.

I swear it's USF's only choice...

Throw up your hands and raise your voice!

All: Monorail!

Minotaur: What's it called?

All: Monorail!

Minotaur: Once again...

All: Monorail!

Judy Genshaft: But Main Street's still all cracked and broken...

Velcro: Sorry, Prez, the mob has spoken!

All: Monorail!

Monorail!

Monorail!

Monorail!

bullwark: Mono... D'oh!
