plays UF this week. I will be the biggest Mason fan in Arizona this weekend. The very first men's college basketball game I ever saw in person was George Mason versus Liberty University (Jerry Faldwell University). Saw my first slam dunk by a guy named Julius Nowosu (or something like that). I actually saw a women's game in person first: #1 UVA versus #2 Maryland in Cole Field House (14,000 plus were there for that game when UVA had two hot twins playing for them).

Anyways... if you want some GMU knowledge... the great Paul Westhead coached there in the '90s. They called it Paul-ball, but it never caught on (he coached the Bo Kimble/Hank Gathers LMU teams). GMU has a club football team that got started in the mid-90s. The school is located in Fairfax, VA... the campus feels like the size of our Business building.

A true commuter school... bt you might say this run of theirs is nothing less then exceptional.

If they beat UF and then win the national title, it will be the best Cinderella story ever IMO. Can anyone think of anyone that would be bigger? USF beating Louisville in football? Anyways... UF is prime pickings to be upset.

Let's go Patriots!

The Cinderella story would be even sweeter by beating the stinking Gators to get there .....

What's the lowest seed to have won the national championship?

We all should be GMU fans because their university really mirrors our own. Started in the 50s as an alternative to the other state schools, servicing a major city, commuter-school in nature, diverse, and a growing (in GMU's case, huge) research institution.

...except somehow they're still in the CAA and we're in the Big East, a fact that still, today, blows my mind.

i think Nova as an 8 seed

Yes, in 1985.  Also, that same year, LSU became the lowest seed to make the Final Four, which GMU just duplicated.

Yeah Nova beat my main man Patrick Ewing and the Hoyas.

BTW, UF is gonna stomp GMU.  UF is really gelling.  I don;t see anyone beating them now.  They manhandled Nova.
