i was listenin to the radio one day and they were makin fun of usf for playin florida a&m and the same day fsu was playin the citadel and didnt hear anything bad bout them......

Trust me Florida State heard plenty about it. That game was actually scheduled late because they delayed the series with COlorado I think til this season.

They're a warmup for the conference schedule to come.

the problem is that most of the teams in our conference are warmups for the power conferences but we still have trouble with them

this program, given its size and location, should not be challenged by uconn, pitt, rutgers, cincy, cuse, etc and be forced to schedule mcneese, famu, etc to salvage bowl hopes

and who really cares about getting to a carwash bowl anyway? those bowls feature mediocrity and should not garner any respect

i'd rather not go to one of those bowls because we got blown out by usc than go because we got over on mcneese st....then our coaching staff would have to be accountable for why we are nowhere near the top instead of hiding behind misleading accomplishments like mediocre bowls

and i would venture that potential recruits would rather play against the powerhouses than the type of opponent you face in the those bowls anyway

Not wanting to jump off the subject too much, but f$u QB won the O player of the week that game ... they got plenty of positive press for their play.

We are NOW entering year 10 ... some do not realize/appreciate how far we have come.

Patience ... very soon we will be scheduling bigger names at home ... remember that Miami of FL will be here soon.

Well that kind of chump change will never bring in a team like UF.  They will probably demand $400K to $500K to come to Tampa.  It has nothing to do with them being afraid of playing us.  It is all about the Benjamins.

The problem is a team like FSU or Florida, who have ready fan bases that will travel to see their team in Tampa (might even be more convienent for most fans nothaving to brave traffic of driving to Gainesville and Tally on game day).

Those schools know that they will essientially fill RJS and don't want 150-250k to help us make a lot more money that that. This goes for any big school.

That chump change is the amount we have been paying for the chump teams we have been playing ... not sure for the better teams.
