Penny Greene (1975-77, 1979) 1,058 points

6-2, 185, Guard, Landover, Md., Parkdale High School

The first USF player to score 1,000 points … Had knee surgery prior to his true senior season, received a medical red-shirt and responded with an outstanding final campaign in 1978-79 … Led the Bulls in scoring with 16.8 points-per-game as a senior and was named second-team All-Sun Belt … Name can still be found on two USF “Top 10†career lists as he is No. 7 with 364 assists and No. 10 with 905 field goal attempts … Is No. 12 on the career free throws made list with 240.

Mr. Mazza and I know Penny Greene. Steve and I worked with the basketbulls when Penny was a star on the team. We played our home games at Curtis Hixon Hall in downtown Tampa; no Sundome yet.

I remember Penny Green. Exciting player - our first real star. I've always been suprised that he's not referred to more often. He was USF basketball back then.
