Leavitt should hire you as an advisor.

Where do I fax my resume? I'll put in for the OC job too.

Riley Headed To USF

Published: Jan 13, 2006

Former University of Florida defensive tackle Julian Riley will transfer to USF.

Riley is in the process of attempting to be admitted into school and enroll in classes for the spring semester.

A former Lakewood High star, Riley (6-3, 278) must sit out the 2006 season and will have a year of eligibility remaining at USF.

Riley played sparingly at Florida and had no career tackles for the Gators.

At Lakewood, he was a three-year starter and earned second-team all-state honors as a senior, when he had a school-record 17 sacks.

running,

If he had 2 years eligibility we'd have a point. But this is a guy who was constantly seen as "lazy" after recovering from knee surgery. He also got into it with coaching staff on many occassions (Zook's and Meyer's) He is not the same player he was in high school.

He was one year left, he hasn't been in more than a practice situtation except for one series (Which I'm sure was garbage minutes). Why waste a scholly on a guy we'll get in two years for ONE year when we could bring in a young talent that can be brought up.

Where in this article does it say we are giving him a scholarship?

Don't see that anywhere.

Just because he is transferring here doesn't mean we are giving him a scholarship.

What ever happened to that JuCo QB from Mississippi that was supposed to transfer here?  Did we land him?

No other D1 school offered him either so something must be up with him if every other school passed him up!

As a scholarship player at UF, Riley must be granted a schollie for at least one year at the school he transfer to if he stays in I-A. So Yes, he will have a schollie.

(I don't think the NCAA has changed this rule yet although there was proposed legislation.)

Well, in that case maybe it's better we didn't offer him, but I was under the impression that he ran the spread and threw for like a billion yards
