LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Junior running back Michael Bush will return for his senior season at the University of Louisville, said head coach Bobby Petrino.

 

Running back Michael Bush will return for his senior season.

A native of Louisville, Bush led the Cardinals in rushing and touchdowns, running for 1,143 yards and 23 touchdowns in nine games.

Bush missed two games with a sprained right foot, which he sufferred in the third quarter against Pittsburgh. He became the first U of L running back since 1999 to run for more than 1,000 yards in a season and set school records for touchdowns and points scored in a season.

The junior from Male High School led the nation in scoring, averaging 14.40 points per game. He scored at least two touchdowns in nine games before being held scoreless for the first time in the Gator Bowl loss to

Virginia Tech. He ran for a career-high four touchdowns and 159 yards in a triple-overtime loss to West Virginia on Oct. 15.

Bush, a first team All-Conference performer, recoroded six 100-yard games, including a career-best 204 yards against Florida Atlantic.

"We're very excited about Michael's decision to return to the University of Louisville," said head coach Bobby Petrino. "He's coming

off a fantastic year, running for more than 1,000 yards and 23 touchdowns. He's such a intregal part of our offense and I look for him to have a huge senior season."

Bush will be available to discuss his decision on Thursday, January 12

at 3:00 p.m.

yeah, we were the brides maid to LVille this year...  they beat us 45-14... wait...   they were our bridesmaid  ;D

Gee and they will also have both Brian Brohm and Chris Caldwell back at quarterback.  Two very talented,  game proven QB's...something USF fans can only dream of.

A good defense beats a good offense. If Steve Nich comes back we should be fine.

No way do we beat lville at lville next year.  They'll be top 10 and won't fall for our BS trick plays again.

Not saying we will beat them. But I think it will be alot closer than we expect.

If we get an offense. We can beat them. UL is losing Dumerville. If we can get a real gameplan on O and move the ball and give our D a rest we have a shot at pulling it off.

Would you care to explain how the Buc's managed to lose 26 straight games despite having a very good defense?

We weren't exactly fine this year.
