Crap, Montes injures his shoulder sliding .... HEAD FIRST into homeplate.

@Sk00b, please teach your little leaguers not to slide head first into home plate.

They can't slide head first for a while. I got tball and coach pitch kids now. That said, you are right, the run is just not worth the injury there.

Brutcher's hustle double gets him scoring possession and Mayo drives him in.  We're tied in the bottom of the 8th.

Boser's ground rule double puts them on 2nd and 3rd (Mayo would have scored)

Bats are making it happen! We need to get better innings out of our starters.

NC AT hit the fastball as well as any team I've seen us play this year (didn't see opening weekend or FSU).  They jumped all over first pitch FBs from Cebert the first couple of innings until he started relying more on offspeed stuff.  They could make some noise in the Colonial this season although their a little thin pitching wise (anyone else think their Friday starter looked like Kenny Powers?)

We don't really have a Friday starter (at least not that shut down guy I like to see).   Mink is good, but he isn't really overpowering.  Mink, Cebert, and Brown have gone 5 innings all but twice (today for Cebert and Brown last Sunday).  I think Mink went 6 once, but that's it.  It's not going to get much better than that.  That could be an issue come conference play, but we'll see.  There's been several guys look good in relief, but there's some consistency issues.

Couple of upgrades today defensively.  Stewart Puckett got the start at 3rd and looked good there.  Much better than Rose has looked and he swung the bat pretty.  Rosenbloom is much better behind the plate than Monique (and he is not great in LF).   Robertson was at DH today and hit a 3 run bomb.  Also walked and had a sac bunt.  He can fly too and was very good in the OF during his HS days.  I'd be interested to see him in LF.  Still not a fan of Boser at SS, but he has made a couple of nice plays this weekend.   I say all this because the defense is going to be a big key to the pitching.  Mink wasn't sharp last night but piss poor defense probably cost him 3 runs and the shot at going at least 6 innings.  It was better today other than Cebert not covering the plate and Montes not paying attention or he could have been there.

I expect to put up double digits again tomorrow unless we're resting guys and I don't see why we would do that.  NC AT can't have much left pitching wise and we are crushing this average pitching.  We'll see how well we can keep that up come conference time and better staffs.  Kunkel has done a good job with the offense.
