Coming in for Summer B is not a requirement, but they push for it. I don't think it is a bad sign, but take all the new guys with USF photos as a good sign.

Also, I believe that, if he commits to another school, he will have to sit out a year. I don't think he would want that. So, there must be some serious extenuating circumstances involved.

Isn't there an entrance requirement for athletics? What if he does not meet the requirement, is taking classes to try to meet it, but decided to enter the portal (with USF's blessings) in case he cannot meet the requirement for the Fall?
