...USF admin is telling us that we won't need more than 35,000 seats? We have announced crowds larger than this at times at Raymond James, far from campus and while sucking. What happens if we are actually sustainably good and have the run of a lifetime...every game will be sold out and we'll be keeping potential new fans out of the stadium. I certainly don't think we need to bloat the stadium with 50k+ right now because it'll definitely look half-full for some time, but the options we are left with are to force an immediate second construction project for expansion OR not have enough seats for the growing fan base... My take is that the original build needs to be around 42,000 with expansion possible to 55,000.

This is the part where I remind everyone that announced crowds, especially in larger capacity stadiums, are utter BS and should be given no credibility. The proposed stadium capacity of the OCS is the ultimate lie detector.

Standing room/grass berms would be cool. I have no idea if it'll happen, but it would be neat!

This setup at Navy has always caught my attention.  Grass below, seats behind.

I am sure all those tourists will be flocking to Oviedo to see the tower.

Looks like a waste of taxpayer money

I'm sure they'll do their usual awesome job on building it ....

Our group at the game last Saturday were commenting on how we'd like a setup similar to Navy's.

My hope for the OCS is simply to make it as an uninviting place as possible to play for opposing teams. Design for maximum crowd noise (like Seattle - 12th man loud), shade for home side visitors in the sun, opposing teams band and fans get the corner nose bleeds, etc.

P5s smallest stadiums.

35,000 Is small folks. We’d be one of the smallest in the p5 if we were in it.

It’s time to flip the typical NCAA stadium list

We joke but I actually thought the Duke stadium looked awesome in that Notre Dame game.  And it sounded loud in there.

Build it - sell it out - expand it. Simple formula. Shouldn't expand until it is sold out consistently.

Grass areas, green seats, and a dug in field would be awesome.

Designing it to be loud is my top priority. Causing false starts on defense all the time would be awesome.

A field below ground level might be a challenge in Florida with the water table being so close to the surface.
