I guess it depends on the definition of breaking ground as someone above mentioned.  Probably misspoke.  But definitely not the formal one we are all used to.

So, back in September of 1997 I was working in ticket sales. We play our first game, 49.212 show up for a I-AA vs. an NAIA school. So much emotion, so many wonderful things. 

Jim Louk (who was director of sales) asked me to talk to a Tampa Tribune reporter/columnist about an article about how Bulls football was taking over Tampa. 

I swear to you, I said 25 minutes of the best stuff. Like really great examples. I was on fire. 

The article comes out (before news was online, we had to wait for the paper). 

My 25 minutes of brilliance was reduced to one quote, that I didn't even remember saying. 

"I wouldn't be surprised if the next home game sold out, too."

Update: the next home game did not come close to selling out. 

I can feel the pain of a misstep like this.

The April 19th board meeting has recently had "Special BOT Meeting" added to the description. 

I think that usually means some type of contract is being approved. No clue if its OCS related

• Softball fields at that current site being demolished, other prep work done. Technically "breaking ground"
• Above + breaking ground on the attached football facility while they finish up the designs for the stadium
• Golesh wasn't wrong, but this is such a big deal and a long time coming USF wants to make the announcement in a more formal way

They also have to do the environmental studies, do some site review (such as which trees will be torn down and which will need to be saved/moved).  That can happen before design is complete.
