Remember when Odom was considered screwing up this hire? Just when you think...

Or when some were saying that Dusty May didn't win enough his first few years at FAU even though he was above .500. This guy won 6 games total in his first two years.

If this is real, then Welcome Coach! Let’s turn it around!

I mean, what else do we do on this board besides bash somebody before they even step on campus for the first day?

Bash them for sucking ass once they've been on campus for a couple years?

While I kind of appreciate a coach crying instead of just making us cry, it’s kind of funny that he is crying about his commitment to the program and the players buy in and commitment and then would leave a couple of weeks later to do 3 years at a job that is desperate enough to have had to find out w(ho)tf  you are.

I thought the same thing.

Pop Tv Laughing GIF by Schitt's Creek

It's actually hilarious. I'm listening to Doug Gottleib's podcast and he interviewed AAR before they played Xavier.

His second coaching job was at GT under Gregory. At that job, he was pretty much an intern, simply rolling around a white board from place to place and tracking stats. Says it was a humbling experience to go from scouting and working directly with players at Murray State to his role at GT which sounds to me like a glorified student manager.

10 years later he is taking Gregory's old job...

A guy who had a total of 6 wins in his first two years at Kennesaw. Horrible hire in my opinion. Especially considering we were talking Brey and Odom not long ago.

Hope it works out, but if it doesn't, and we don't see considerable improvement in year one ( and that's for football also) I will be officially on the fire Kelly bandwagon

I know people are going to look at the first 2 seasons and be skeptical.

However, he took over a bad program and won more games in each successive season that he was at Kennesaw St. Sounds exactly like what Coach Taggart did here for Football.

I can't even imagine what this board would be like if we won 26 games in a season.

In order to hire a established coach they have to have more then one year of winning record. Might as well just hire a assistant, in my book this is just as big as a gamble as a assistant. This AD sucks.

I don't think people are "bashing" him, it's the clown show of an athletic department that keeps leading us down these paths.  Hopefully he works out just like we hope that Golesh works out

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
