Some large programs will bring a pep band (usually less than half of the band) to away games.  A very few will bring the entire band to any and every game.  For either of these situations to occur, it takes a program that has a very strong and very large alumni base, and a funding system that would make Leavitt's new salary look like chicken feed!

Keep up the support, and give our relatively new football program time to develop--the band will continue to grow and develop as well.  We'll get there with the great staff and team we have!

Ok let me ask you a question, how many home games have you attended? Obviouslly none because the ONLY teams that have ever brought a band to RJS are Troy St,FAMU and UCF.

The fact is that very few schools take their bands to away game.

I believe Army also brought somewhat of a band to our homecoming game last year

There was no band at the Rutgers game either but there were cheerleaders and The AD and President of the University all were present at the tent before the game, they all took time to shake everyones hands and say thanks for coming. I was ok with no band at that game

I hope USF brings the band to Orlando.  They were a blast to work with.

Ok katie dont take this the wrong way.  But if yall are dancers yall are dancers. Not cheerleaders, you may do cheers but you cant take the place of guys with megaphones on the field.  Personaly, I dont think the sundolls should travel. The whole point of taking cheeerleaders is to lead the crowd.  And thats isnt the sundolls main focus...

By the way congrats on making it to nationals.

Matthew, question for you...

I have seen at a few other games, the home band has learned the visiting team's fight song and march over to the visiting fans during pre-game and play their fight song.  This always struck me as a class move.

You guys ever consider that?

cubanbull-i think most of hte bigger programs bring their bands on road trips

i will moniter the situation

I think it depends on the rivalry between the 2 teams, and how far the team is from the travelling school.  I have been to 2 FSU football games (one vs. Wake and one vs. Duke) and those schools brought a pep band and not the whole band

The band here makes at least 1 full band trip and usually a pep band trip.  This year was an exception with a full band traveling to Tampa instead.  I expect a full band trip to Gainesville next year and USF to have one in Orlando.

The SunDolls are part of the SPIRIT SQUADS. Notice  the word spirit. I never said we take the place of megaphones, nor is cheering our main focus. But it is part of what we do at the games! It makes me so outraged to hear someone say that we shouldn't travel. I can't begin to tell you how happy the people in Syracuse were that we were there. We got SO many compliments...

Thanks for the congrats but I'm still pissed.
