someone said “cultural change” & USF athletics needs it from the top down.

The Jim *is* USF culture.

I’ll sing his praises as a coach but where his dickish persona is a plus sideline to sideline and endzone to endzone

Would it still be, though? He was perfect for what he did, birthing and building an upstart, maverick program but I'm not sure how headbutting helmeted players would play out today .... how he'd work in the NIL world of today ... what kind of negative recruiting tactics could be used against him. I'm definitely not opposed to him coming back if MK is forced to make another change, what do we have to lose at that point, I'm just not sold on him being the messiah some appear to believe he would be.

This ls like people that confront swipes at Scott and get called a Jeff Scott lover.

I don't think anyone thinks Leavitt would be a Messiah.  I read several times they think he would still be what he was before:  Someone who cared about the program, someone who hated losing, someone who developed players, someone who worked hard, someone who could get good assistants, etc.  Things they don't believe are happening today.

We get it. You are mad after another loss. But this is dumb.

To break the stank curse hanging over the program, they might have to do that to break it...

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
