I don't think him recruiting will be a problem, my only worry is how will he handle his frustration when a 19 year old kid doesn't understand his play book

Seriously, I can see it now:

Gruden: “What’s wrong with you, didn’t you watch Hard Knocks?!?! Execute ******* spider 2 Y banana!!!”

He is not a homophobe and racist . Just google what all his black players have said about him.  If you have never called anybody gay or homo then you are a liar. All guys call their freinds or enemies those names doesn't mean your a homphobe your just a dude

The very fact that you would call someone "gay" or "homo" as an insult is indicative of a negative attitude or disposition towards gay people.  That is the TEXTBOOK definition of homophobia.  One does not have to hate or mistreat people to be prejudiced against them.  If you think that all men walk around calling each other "gay" or "homo" then the issue is your limited social circle.  There are plenty of "dudes" out there who do not.

Another thing I'm thinking about Gruden.  Does he bring in some ex Bucs to the staff.   D Brooks as D coordinator, Sapp as DL coach, Shaun King back ect  Not sure if they would be great coaches but recruiting Tampa would be insane

In theory that sounds epic, but I question how into all the recruiting nonsense and dealing with kids he would be.  He likes working with veterans that can just know what he wants them to do.

I really don't get all the love for Gruden.  He won a Super Bowl with Dungy's team.  Outside of that, he had far more losing seasons than winning seasons.  With all of the baggage that comes with him, I just don't get it.

Ed Orgeron won a National Championship and has had far more success on the college level and yet he isn't even a blip on most people's radar.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that pretty much anyone that has been named will do a better job with these players than Jeff Scott.

Gruden, Orgeron, Frost, Taggart, Skip Holtz, Leavitt, Charlie Strong, Rich Bisaccia, Trent Dilfer, etc.

I don't think we could possibly be disappointed

Michael Kelly has set the bar fairly low.

And yet Dungy was unable to lead the Bucs to a Super Bowl with Dungy's team. I get that you don't want Gruden as USF's next coach, but don't diminish Gruden's accomplishments.

To be fair, under the tail end of the Bucs era remember the Glazers were not spending money at all and wouldn't bring in any star players.  Then when we had Schiano or whoever, they were signing all of these huge stars to get to the salary FLOOR.

Not sure how calling someone who is gay, gay is textbook definition of homophobia? If anything the definition of homphobia is one who fears gay people and homosexuality...

We definitely have to make a run at Coach Prime. We probably can't afford him, but we have to take a shot. He is exactly what this program needs.

“This is not a broken football program by any means. It just needs to be united, to get everybody on the same page, share that same vision, and really to have that standard - best is the standard.”

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
