to cold weather teams in big east

why leavitt let that loser mentality invest the team is beyond me

we had a chance to step in miami's shoes and blew it

Um, yes.  Miami has come close to losing or lost up north several times.  Va Tech has a winning record at home vs miami in the last 15 years i believe, and had won 2 straight before this year.

Miami was somewhat down in the 90's and its never easy to go on the road, north or otherwise.  Hell, Miami lost to ECU at HOME in that stretch.

I watched the UCONN game and its very, very easy to pin it on our offensive performance and special teams.  Its very positive to hold an opponent to 200 yds and 1 td as a defense, and get 2 turnovers.  Except when the O gives up 5.

Stick to your bandwagoning L.A. ways, dude.  Living in La-La land has affected your ability to comprehend reality.

Reality and smazza do NOT belong in the same sentence.  Period.

the reality is that usf lost to a less talented team with little to play for

and as long as the majority doesn't demand more, usf will give us pj,rod smith and lose to the likes of pitt and uconn

usfmikeb, bulliever , uei(or whatever he is today) and others are so happy to have a team that there is no concern if that team doesn't perform.

we will be like ftu/ou/oc without a change in the direction of this program.

the acceptance of mediocrity has been the downfall of usf athletics

We have a terrible qb and almost beat a team after turning the ball over 5 times.

If we lost to UConn with a good qb, then I would be worried about the teams direction.

If we switched qb's with teams that beat us this year, I think we would have beaten all are teams this year.

This team isn't that far from being a good team.

that is one scary notion.. its unfortunate that so many people who want leavitt to stay and maitain this level of mediocrity flood this message board... for me, i dont want to lose to teams like pitt, uconn, and army anymore, i want to win the big east.. however, there are people on here who are content with that and content with jimmy leavitt because they love the fact that USF beat up on the kentucky wesleyans and the eagle creek universities of the 1AA world back in the day

What?  They're still playing for bowl eligibility.

You seem to forget the wins over Louisville and Rutgers.

usfmikeb, bulliever , uei(or whatever he is today) and others are so happy to have a team that there is no concern if that team doesn't perform.

No one is happy about yesterdays game.

we will be like ftu/ou/oc without a change in the direction of this program.

This is so assinine, I can't even respond.

the acceptance of mediocrity has been the downfall of usf athletics

No one is accepting mediocrity.  You can't turn into a national contender overnight.  Although a the rate we're going, we're close.

cee did you forget the quality wins that he has brought the program. If you were a Penn State fan Jopa would have been gone a long time ago or when they lost to Rutgers. No program has ever even been mentioned in BCS this quick thats what I call mediocre.

SCBULL- usf was a 9 point favorite over uconn

\

usf had more to gain

uconn has to beat usf and louisville.

cee-scbull is one of those who wants to maintain our level of mediocrity

scbull- i don't buy for a second you beleive what you type

beating louisville and rutgers is worth little if we lose to pitt and uconn

you need to win them all

see west virginia

cee-there are so many newbies to the game of football  that they are satisfied with lsoing to uconn because uconn now has a chance for a bowl

uconn sucks and usf should be disgraced to lose to such a team with so much on the line for usf.any other attitude has no place in the usf football offices

Who is satisfied with the loss to UConn?  You can't see the forest for the trees.  I agree we should have beaten UConn.  They scored on three huge mistakes and we failed to score because of mistakes, penalties, and coaching errors.

Even you thought we'd only win 4 games this year.  So, in the big picture, we exceeded your expectations.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
