But it does touch on what I said in another thread.

ASU AD chopped off HC Herm's head to save his own.

Ga Tech AD was going to ride it out with the failing coach.  He got canned along with the coach.

So Which one do you think MK follows? I am going with GA Tech model.

I think MK will go Ga Teching it too, however, no one will fire him and Scott.

QUOTABLE

"We've got to own it. It was a bad day, and that's what it was. If I felt that was who this team was, I'd be a lot more concerned than I am now."

"Really the challenge for our coaching staff and our players is who we're going to be. We're 0-0 in the conference."

- Head Coach Jeff Scott

I am not sure he knows how to evaluate talent or results  ...

We have no offense, our defenses needs help, and we have won one fbs game in 2.25 seasons. The fact he is trying to say we are good and are 0-0 is laughable.  He should be talking about what he is going to do to improve his offense especially the passing game.

I really question whether or not Jeff Scott wants to be here.

It doesn't matter he gets paid for nicely for several more years with no consequences  for losing.

You really believe so?  Also, have you ever entered into a contract yourself?

Good. I feeling better today so I will say let’s get 5 or more wins this season and get stronger for next season

Yes but not in sports. He got rewarded for the worse two seasons in history. What consequences do you think he is afraid of?

Being fired, never getting another chance to HC, hypertension, sleepless nights, public ridicule, exaggeration and name-calling from internet jackasses.  Hostility.  Embarrassment for his family.  Financially, acquires no bonuses.  Loss of health, self-esteem, self-confidence

So, I know how you argue, you'll counter with one of these:

  • but he makes $2.5 million, (see below)
  • but he's 1-22, or
  • Coach from USTA didn't fail to win games, or
  • Covid is no excuse
  • Or, he could coach FCS because they don't care about wins

(below)  he has a contract.  USF wrote it, not Jeff Scott.  They likely didn't write in public floggings and removal of fingers and toes for losses (good thing because he'd be out of them!).  They have to honor the contract they signed, unless they pull off a tricky manuever.....  🤔

Believe, me that's the only time I can waste on this.  I am not keenly focused on Scott around the clock.  I've got other things that catch my attention.  Besides, no amount of internet bellyaching and repetitive cutting and pasting is going to change things.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
