So you would rather cupcake up to get "4 wins" instead of getting that potential UF win?

We are the cupcake.  We would probably go 1-3 vs. 4 Sun Belt teams so does it really matter.  I see App St and Coastal Carolina winning these types of games, why can't we.

Because we can't play offense or defense.

As a USF fan, there is no such thing as a cupcake.

Another reason not to schedule a bunch of FCS teams.  Only downsides...

The last two games have the special teams hankering to be in your reply.

Totally agree; these guys haven't been competitive in years, and these OOC schedules are doing them no good.  Sure, have one high-level opponent, but don't put yourself in the bottom of the NCAA prior to conference play.  At this point, I'd rather go 7-5 against an easier schedule with a bowl game against a CUSA team instead of getting bludgeoned by far superior teams and finishing the season with four/five wins.

We are the cupcake, until we aren't anymore.  So it doesn't matter if they go out and schedule 4 G5 teams, 4 FCS teams, or 4 P5 teams.  We would go 1-3 right now against anyone.  I'd rather schedule the BYU, Floridas and Louisvilles.  Louisville is a mediocre ACC team, at best.  USF should be able win 50 percent of those games.

It looks like it's setting us up for failure every season. We need confidence builders in the beginning of the season, not blowouts.

Hard disagree.  Play meaningful games.  The fact we're losing bad is an indictment of our coaching staff and result of years of leadership failures.

If we don't plan to field a team that can be competitive against these guys, then what's the point of playing at all?

Even though today feels like 2 steps back after 1 step forward,  this is the truth right now.

We are right on schedule. Many predictions had us at 1-3 well here we are

There's a difference between being down multiple scores in the first quarter and just "losing a game" to a better team.  No one, and I mean no one, should accept being down 38-7 and 28-0 at half time to BYU and Louisville as "on schedule".  We went 'all in', gave up on a QB we were developing, and we look like a year 1 disaster team in these halves of football (and it's year 3).  It's atrocious and cannot simply be due to their skill vs ours.

I think pussing out would be the wrong move for team interest, ticket sales and many other reasons.

Hindsight looks great on you. He did what was right at the time and hoping things would have turned a page years ago. How many American conference wins do we have? Bull **** post.

Edit - you just want easy wins. Just say it.
