This is about as reasonable of a review and outlook as I have seen. 5 to 6 wins is the goal. 4 is the basement. 7+...watch out in 2023!

Decent piece with some good points but there  is also some questionable journalism as well. Good to make the front page of anything though. Any press and exposure is never a bad thing.

"Now the wins have to come. The program is too good – and has too much to offer – to be this mediocre." Mediocre needs to be replaced with terrible. Did they not research Vincent Davis is not with the playing football anymore?  Mediocre is around .500 or average.

This article was actually written and posted here a few months ago. I am not sure why it is dated August 1st at the top of the article but I remember reading this back in June.

Yeah, i immediately thought the same thing. If we are mediocre, what is bad?

Not a bad review, but he has the defense relying on Cheney, there is no mention of Pinder or Gordon at LB in the Middle.  Adding Cheney and Pinder at DT is a major upgrade for run defense, and DJ Gordon playing inside of Boyles and Grier should also be transformational on D.  If these additions are even halfway effective, the CB's and Safeties will not have to cover WR's for 5-7 seconds every play due to no penetration by the front lines.

I still think that the defense going from 123 in the nation to even 80 will result in a 6 win season.  People are overlooking how much Glenn Spencer's defensive strategy set this team back- I mean the opposition was guaranteed 3 yards on almost every run play when he was in charge.
