Okay I get it now.  So the Big 2 basically have a gun to Other 2s head threatening to peel off?  Let them peel off so we can get back to playing college football.  Don't accept giving them a weighted position in the playoffs.  That's ridiculous.

In their quest to attain ever-increasing revenue these conferences are killing CFB.   There will be a trickle down though, eventually may affect other sports.  When will we see schools drop out and the adverse consequence of less opportunity for college students?   And when will they turn on each other?   It is going that way.

what would happen if every other conference just didn't schedule out of conference games w/ the big 2?

Basically all the ACC & Big 12 have to do is merged after they bring in USF. Once they do that they will be able to have 4 playoff spots. 2 for the Eastern & 2 for the Western divisions. Basically will be a P3 imo

But, they won't want to share with us or another conference.

they aren't killing it. there will be a split though and honestly there needs to be.

most division 1 schools can't compete with the top 30 or so programs financially.they need to break off and form their minor leagues.

It's gotten to the point where schools are becoming fiscally irresponsible when it comes to what they spend on athletics.

most schools operate in the red. Maybe if they split then some fiscal responsibility will return to these schools that can't compete.

Unfortunately there's nothing either can really do to make the P2 be P3, but the name of the game is being relevant enough with schools that are important enough that you don't get left out of the party, even if you're sort of a second class citizen. Beats the situation the G5 would be in.

A revenue-distribution model has surfaced that would distribute annually to the SEC and Big Ten multiple millions in additional revenue than their two power league counterparts. While an expected move, the figures shocked those who have seen the proposal. In a proposal socialized with administrators this week, the Big Ten and SEC would combine to earn about 58% of the CFP’s base distribution — a figure that will certainly grow in participation distribution as their individual schools earn more revenue for qualifying and advancing through the playoffs. The figure would greatly exceed the ACC and Big 12’s combined distribution number, which is expected to be around 31%. The remaining amount (roughly 10%) will be distributed to Notre Dame and the 64 Group of Five teams.

Might be more money overall will be distributed to us, just the percentage is less.

Who cares what they want. Big12/ACC alliance will be more entertaining than what they have going with their 3 yards & clouds of dust lol. ACC/Big12 will control college hoops and create their own tournament
