Agreed. But if he ends up being right, I'll know he has a legit source and follow him on Twitter until this expansion nonsense is resolved.

The good news is that we'll know TODAY whether he's legit, or goes down as just one more Jed on a long list of failed Jeds.

I can guarantee the Big 12 isn't going to publicly name which schools are on the shortlist.  Too many legal issues involved in that.  So announcing they have a shortlist would be some validation.  The best you'll get about specific schools would be leaked rumors.

Ok, here's the deal.  Someone needs to post on here that USF is likely going to receive a Big 12 invitation.  Then I'll tweet that "my sources" have said USF is a lock to get an invite.  Then everyone can retweet and pretty soon TuxedoYoda will tweet about it and it will become reality.

Should it be in all caps?   That's the only way I know a rumor is true.   That and font size.

USF is getting a bid to the BIG 12 on Tuesday!

There's your source.

I just saw a tweet that echos this thought!  Some guy named DataBull using the hashtag #USFtoB.

It must be true!

Another dig at the USF letter while ignoring the fact that UC had a typo also:

A one-time journalism major, she made sure the four-sentence response to the Big 12 expressing Cincinnati's interest was typo-free.

"I did say we had better read that over and over. ... No fouls and unforced errors," Davenport said.

Wow, more piling on. I encourage everyone to reply.

Funny that there is no mention of their grammatical error in their letter of interest to the Big 12 though

"Sources close to the situation, that wish not to be identified because they are not authorized to speak on the matter, tell us that the Big 12 has narrowed its expansion list to three schools: BYU, Cincinnati and Houston. UCONN and UCF are reportedly no longer under consideration."

Interesting:

Don’t miss the significance of that point. The Big 12 would like new members to begin conference play in 2017. BYU, being an independent, has no problem. Houston has more than one billionaire booster willing to pay for the Cougar’s early exit from the AAC. Can the Bearcats say the same?

In the end, it looks like the Bearcats will lose out, because if the Big 12 is going to expand, how can it disregard the advice of it television partners and consultants? How can the most dysfunctional conference in college football not see the value in adding Houston if the grant of rights is extended as a result?

The Big 12 might have interviewed twenty candidates, and kicked the tires on a few more, but in the end their only real options are to keep their network partners happy and secure the future of the conference. That’s why, as it looks now, BYU and Houston will be celebrated as the newest members of the Big 12 conference.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
