So, it sounds like FAU may be joining the AAC.  As a FAU fan, I want to say we are pumped about what the AAC will be.   A rivalry between South Florida and FAU is a perfect fit to carry the conference.

I am excited about playing the top tier teams in conference and showing everyone that Florida is Owls and Bulls country!

Get ready, FAU is going to kill it with USF in the AAC!

Owls up!!!

I still remember when FAU was still playing in Lockart Stadium, and USF brought in a ton of fans.  It was probably the first sell out for a young FAU program.  That was a fun game.

Looks like the AAC will expand by these 6 teams:

I think these teams are great additions.  Fun road trips for fans, brings back some old CUSA matchups for Memphis and SMU as well as keeps the conference a diverse TV market.

Also great move by FAU.  I could see that program becoming a AAC powerhouse within 5 years with the recruiting and $$$ bump this will give them.

The fact you could drive to FAU and UAB (that's an oddly long feeling drive tho) is good. And at the very least most of them are easy flight destinations (San Antonio, Dallas, Houston, Charlotte).

No offense to any fans of these 6 prospective new members, but adding these 6 teams adds little of substance to the conference.  Since college football drives athletics I do not understand why the AAC isn't pursuing the best 4-6 available football programs.
