Im very excited about Shane and to play for the Rays is just that much better.

He can dial it up to 100 mph and is going to be a big piece of this bullpen....very proud of him especially him being a USF alum.

Good for him.  He is one of the bright pitching prospects on the horizon for the Rays.

From the Times today .....

Cash said lefty Shane McClanahan, who will be used as a starter after debuting last year in relief, dazzled in a Friday bullpen session with his fastball and curve.

Is he going to be used as a starter or an opener? I know it says starter but its the Rays.

1 inning of shutout ball for Sugar Shane today.   Allowed 1 hit and had 1 K in his Spring debut for the Rays
