We do not suck on the road. USF's historical road record has been fair, when you account for differences in talent level (i.e. going to San Diego State as a I-AA team). Not scintillating, mind you, but adequate. In 2003-04 the Bulls won at Memphis, UAB, TCU, East Carolina, and Army. That's better than a lot of teams. And not too many teams anywhere win in State College or the Orange Bowl.

USF does, however, have a tendency to play one really awful road game per season. I'm going to hope that this was it.

USF has an all time road win percentage of 35.9% (14-25).

During the I-AA years ('97-'00), USF's road win percentage was 29.4% (5-12).

Since turning I-A ('01-'05), USF is 40.9% (9-13).

This season USF is 0-3 or 0%.

What is the difference between starting a freshman quarterback who will make mistakes, but learn from them and build on the future or having Julmiste in there who makes mistakes and then makes them again the next week?   We've all ready determined he's awful.   Why not just yank him now.  With or without him in there, I don't see us winning more than 1 or 2 games the rest of the season.  The Louisville game was a fluke, we just happened to hit on all cylinders, but we're too inconsistent on offense.  I feel bad for our defense who would have done okay if the offense hadn't turned the ball over twice within our 20.   I listened to the whole thing on the radio today and I'm glad it wasn't televised.

You really have to take into account that we are a very young team right now.

WE WERE YOUNG LAST YEAR ALSO.

DO WE BECOME OLD AND GOOD NEXT YEAR OR THE YEAR AFTER

KIZ-GARY SEEMS TO THINK USF NOT ONLY DOESN'T SUCK ON THE ROAD BUT THAT THEY ARE GOOD.

We've all ready determined he's awful.

THE FIRST COUPLE OF TIMES I SAW HIM I MADE THAT DETERMINATION AND WONDERED WHEN HIS REPLACEMENT IS COMING

2 YEARS LATER I AM STILL WAITING

Actually, I just quoted the stats on USF's road win percentages. I didn't say anything about it being bad or good. I guess it is a 'glass half full' or 'glass half empty' thing for you then?

Here is all the stats for you to use to show we suck on the road or that we don't.

Home            Year    Away

4-3 (57.1%)  1997   1-3 (25%)

6-1 (85.7%)  1998   2-2 (50%)

6-1 (85.7%)  1999   1-3 (25%)

6-0 (100%)   2000   1-4 (20%)

22-5 (81.5%) I-AA    5-12 (29.4%)

Home            Year    Away

7-0 (100%)    2001   1-3 (25%)

6-0 (100%)    2002   3-2 (60%)

4-2 (66.7%)   2003   3-2 (60%)   5-3 in C-USA 62.5%

2-4 (33.3%)   2004   2-3 (40%)   3-5 in C-USA 37.5%

3-0 (100%)    2005   0-3 (0%)     1-1 in Big East 50%

22-6 (78.6%) I-A     9-13 (40.9%)

44-11 (80%) all time  14-25 (35.9%)

USF was 8-8 or 50% in C-USA and is 1-1 or 50% in the Big East conference play.

That depends on where you draw the line of what constitutes "suck". Perhaps to you it means abysmal failure but to others it means more losses than wins (which is how it shakes out, by the way). Is it just the number of losses? Is it by the margin of losses? Is it based on the teams to whom we have lost?

Maybe you're not comfortable using the term "suck". But I'd have to say that a 35.9% kill ratio does not inspire confidence.
