Clemmons committed to Minnesota without visiting due to his apparent relationship with the DB coach. Just a few days after signing day the DB coach (Jahmile Addae) left to take another job at West Virginia. Clemmons was reportedly looking at Kentucky and USF before committing to the Gophers. You'd have to think they would be in the running again. Perhaps WVU as well, although I'd imagine some trust was lost with Jahmile departing so quickly after Kelvin's commitment. Alonso HS product with family local.

Looks like we didn't have a spot for him.  He is now a Houston Couger

We kicked 8 guys off the team, I’m pretty sure we had a spot if he wanted it.

We may not have wanted to give him a spot.

I guess it’s possible our defense has too much depth and talent.

Are you talking about the basketball team?

We do have 10 DB's on Scholly.

Then why offer him and bring him in for a visit in the first place before he signed with Minnesota? With our depleted roster from the purge, we definitely had room for him this year and next with him being a JuCo guy. I don't buy that we went through the entire recruiting process with him and now don't have room. So the other option is, he chose to go elsewhere...which fits his M.O.
