Last year, we didn't get those freebies...

You did not get them because you did not earn them.  There are no "freebees" in football.  When someone fumbles, its because someone hit them.  I would say UCF game a few "freebee's" away as well.

It's a 'freebie' when, like the 4th quarter kickoff return that was fumbled, the player has the ball knocked out BY HIS OWN TEAMMATE.

It's a 'freebie' when, like the 4th quarter punt that was muffed, the player had no one within 4 yds of him and JUST DROPPED IT......... Just stfu, STK.

They Played them better than we did I hope thats not a sign of things to come

1) New offense for SC (and different quarterback).

2) New defense for SC.

3) Lost Newton in the 2nd half.

You can't really compare last year's SC team with this year's SC team.

4) UCF's offense showed flashes of decency -- but their defense, especially their pass defense, was suspect.

5) USF will have to double team Carrington all night to keep him out of the game.  He was good.

---

I'm not scared of UCF, yet.  Until I see how USF does against Penn State.

That is simply laughable.  USC played horribly, giving up the ball repeatedly without any cause from UCF.  If you think that UCF created any of those turnovers, then you are more delusional than I thought.  Those were freebies, and UCF received several of them.  The only freebie I saw UCF give was a penalty that gave USC a first down and helped a drive to a TD.

Let's look at some of those freebies:

1) USC handoff fumble towards the end of the 3rd quarter gives UCF field position on the USC 37.  Result - UCF TD.

2) USC fumble on kickoff return, which actually was shown on TV to be caused by the ground, ball on the USC 20.  Result - Nada.

3) USC muff on punt return gives UCF ball on USC 17.  Result - UCF TD.

Those were all freebies.

Mike Walker looked good, able to catch some horrible throws from Moffett.  We're going to have get good coverage on him, which will probably leave someone else open.  UCF will score on us a couple times.

1.  Did the USC guy just drop the ball or did he get hit.

2.  The ball was falling out when he was falling.  He did not have control of the ball.  With replay and the SEC officials, if they could have overturned it, they would have.

3.  That was a muff.  But if UCF did not have good coverage, he would not have muffed it.  Glenroy Watkins was killing their return guys and the punt returner knew it.

So what your saying is, every turn over USF gets, its a freebie.

1. It was a bad exchange.

2. He was losing the ball because his OWN man hit him.

3. That one doesn't even warrant a response.

So what we're saying is that opposing players CAN cause turnovers but that just wasn't the case last night.
