Strong additions to Coach Gregory's basketball team for next season. How many times has USF wrapped up their recruiting class this early? Chaplin is an incredible athlete to have in the backcourt and fits the hard playing and determination attitude that Coach Gregory likes.

Coach Gregory is quietly building USF men basketball into a winner. Brick by Brick

One of the Peach State's best forwards headed to South Florida

Meadowcreek's Jamir Chaplin committed to Head Coach Brian Gregory and the University of South Florida earlier this week. To classify this as a good get for USF would be an understatement given the production Chaplin has displayed up to this point, and his upside heading into his senior year at Meadowcreek and beyond. While known for his play on the defensive end, Chaplin's offensive abilities stretch beyond the dunks and inside scoring that a player of his size and abilities gets easily. His improved handle, jumpshot, and ability to get to certain spots on the floor will stand out this year as Meadowcreek prepares to defend its GHSA AAAAAAA state title.

Key there is only having to fill 2 early spots . I think the last time that occurred was Stan's last year. Holston committed during the summer but Mercurius wasn't until early 2014.

It's a strong class when you combine it with the 2 former 4☆ recruits in CG Zack Dawson and PF Mayan Kir. Apparently all both guys needed was to come home to regain their abilities. Lots to be excited about with USF men's basketball.

Gregory has already landed 6 of the top 20 ranked recruits in USF's history. That's crazy given the situation he inherited and the short amount of time he has been here. If we can just avoid the injury bug, he will have us seriously competing in the AAC in due time.

after next years class it will be 8 of top 25 all time and add in the two 4 star recruits.  Funny looking back on the list though how many actually failed.  Also not sure where some of those recruits who were pretty high in the 90's rated?

I don't think they had the same level of tracking and rating the recruits back then. I'm sure it is more a product of the last 20 years or so, but still impressive by CBG nonetheless.
