Has left to be an Okie at Okie State. Guess he doesn't feel he can compete in the best basketball conference in the USA as a member of USF. Sorry to say this kid, but bad move! You'll start to feel homesick real soon when none of your relatives will see you play! Good luck anyways.    Reaper

Florida's Mr. Basketball Won't Play For USF

By BRETT McMURPHY bmcmurphy@tampatrib.com

Published: Jul 20, 2005

TAMPA - DeLand forward Keith Brumbaugh, who said the University of South Florida was among his final four choices, has decided to attend Oklahoma State, the Oklahoman reported.

Brumbaugh, Florida's Mr. Basketball, also considered USF, Florida and Nebraska.

The 6-foot-8 Brumbaugh initially was going to enter the NBA Draft, but withdrew his name. He was a third-team Parade All-American and is rated as the nation's 14th best player by Rivals.com.

1..Why will he be on the bench, he is a top 15 recruit and they lost there entire front line.

2.  Why would he be homesick....the Graham brothers seemed to have worked out real well.

3.  Play in front of 1500 or 15,000.  no brainer good choice on his part.

for point 3, that may be "somewhat" accurate if you compare in arena/home games only.

but 1)  we average about 3500 at home last year, but point still taken,

2)  half our Big east games are on the road against teams that do have WAY more fans than we do, so those games will have in arena exposure

3)  Big east TV exposure....

it may be 4000 to 15000 in the arena at home, but on tv you are talking huge ratings to average ratings, and exposure is what will get him into the NBA (in addition to that talent).

Still, Joey G seemed to get enough exposure since his team did so well.

Now look at visibility.

Velcro Okie St will have 1--12 nationally televised games...USF might have 2.  Exposure has nothing to do with making the NBA, having the talent and heart is what will get you there.
