Potentially they were suffering from wishful thinking?  I don’t think anyone really thought that was the case but were more hoping that were the case.

ya. I was even hoping that to be true rather than face reality. I just never believed you could all of a sudden pull the real offense out of your pocket and have it work.

He wasn’t even that big of a threat nor should he have been. He’s great don’t get me wrong but a bunch of guys making a really good sized pay check should have been able to game plan around ONE defensive player.
