I suspect because an entire team is being invited and not a specific player. Also, recruiting trips typically have the individual player on the field. In this case the entire team is being invited to sit in the stands.

In that case, we should be doing this EVERY game. It's not like there's a dearth of empty seats.

Agree! I know we have had high school nights in the past but not sure if that is done every season.
