Here is the blurb:

.< JAGS CUT FORMER USF PLAYER: Jacksonville signed rookie tight end Mark Wood and waived first-year wide receiver Huey Whittaker, a former University of South Florida player. Whittaker is currently playing for the Frankfurt Galaxy in NFL Europe.<

Hopefully, some other team will pick him up.

I don’t understand I played against him in high school and with him in college (during my short walk-on experience at USF and I mean very short **** Knees) I guess he doesn’t have the NFL speed but **** can the kid jump

Sad! He was doing well in Europe too! He should rejoin Marquell in Canada!   Reaper

Whittaker got waived because he was cut by Frankfurt last week because of off the field issues.

I didn't think he was much of a factor for Frankfurt anyway...

He was fourth on the team with 11 catches for 153 yards and one touchdown.

His hands got him cut from Tampa. He's a great athlete... but having hands are something that you can't teach. Scott McCready had great hands... as did a kid that transferred from USF... Jason Bingham (probably the best hands of everyone I've played with... not including Ant Henry). I had below average hands. Both Huey and Hugh Smith had average hands. I don't care how many balls you catch a day... there is a huge difference between below average, average, and above average. Concentration is a huge part also. Limited reps make the stress meter go crazy when you get a chance to get on the field. Freshman mistakes are so common place because there are a million things going through your head before you get set on the line. When that becomes routine, the catch becomes routine. If the catch was the only thing I would've had to worry about, life would've been a box of chocolates. Until Huey gets a chance to get in a comfort zone, he will be continuously waived by teams. Look how long DRube has stuck it out with the Bucs. He's at the point now where football is feeling natural and thats when he excels. The learning curve is steep. Hopefully Huey will get one last opportunity.
