  1. After following some of the posts on this board, I really felt the urge to share some thoughts with some of these Monday morning QB’s posting here. It is somewhat ironic to see that a week after people we ready to give Coach Leavit a lifetime contract, the tide has changed and now people want him to take the KSU job. Or better yet let’s fire the OC because of incompetence, even though the offense has to rely on second string players. What do you guys expect? Play UConn, on the road nevertheless, and run those Huskies out of their own stadium? Here is a newsflash. FSU ain’t that good and neither are you. It is not the X’s & O’s but the Moe’s & Joe’s that make plays work. I don’t care who is calling the O, bring in Charlie Weiss or Norm Chow and with no players they get as much done as Smith. The BCS hype is amusing too, since all this talk would have not taken place if USF would have played WVU as scheduled. Folks, it is your first year in a BCS Conference, you will end the season with a winning record despite a truly challenging schedule, and people have the nerve to call for peoples heads. It is people like those that ruin our profession. So next time you spend your valuable free time with creating a truly pathetic web page like firerodsmith.com how about trying to sellout.raymondjames.com, so that maybe next year your school will go bowling… Yours truly,
  2. Whittaker got waived because he was cut by Frankfurt last week because of off the field issues. I didn't think he was much of a factor for Frankfurt anyway...
  3. Something to think about: Smith was hired in 2001 to install Clemson's Offense: Done, Smith runs the Offense because he knows it, Hobbie has the title but is learning the system. Gradually Hobbie takes over. Offense system changes gradually...Offense numbers fall. Hobbie resigns, USF goes back to Smith to run Hurry up Offense. Don't get me wrong, Coach Hobbie is a good guy, but maybe he just wasn't up to all of this. SO before you guys get all excited about the hire, just sit back and see what happens. Don't blame someone who did not have anything to do with that operation in last two years.
