Bama would be out. do you think if Bama loses to Washington due to injury or luck then they should still go on to play the winner ( or actually the team that the committee thinks is better because winning head to head doesn't actually matter) of the ohio state/ clemson game? So you would have had UF in the Final Four over Oklahoma .... this conversation is reaching its end. 1

I'd prefer top 8 conference champs though.

Top 4 conference champs. Bama would be eliminated. The way it is set up now, I don't think any conference champ should be guaranteed a spot. If AAC champ is ranked higher than SEC champ and is in top 4 then they go. Edited December 5, 2016 by Bull94

The Big 12 doesn't even play a conference championship game so they shouldn't even be considered in the playoffs? If they are considered then they don't have to risk that extra loss in he conference and have an easier road.

I think they are playing a champ game next year. they would not have made it this year anyway. PSU would be in and OSU would be out. there is no perfect system but taking as much subjectivity out as possible gets it closer. the way they have it now is just BCS lite. they hand pick 4 teams and then let the winners play.
