So let me get this right, you're saying that if Florida beat Bama in the SEC championship whether it be due to injury or luck, then Florida should be in he playoffs and not Bama?

conference championship games are essentially the first round. win and advance. Bama would be out.

do you think if Bama loses to Washington due to injury or luck then they should still go on to play the winner ( or actually the team that the committee thinks is better because winning head to head doesn't actually matter) of the ohio state/ clemson game?

So you would have had UF in the Final Four over Oklahoma .... this conversation is reaching its end.

Ok, so Oklahoma would make it instead?

top 4 conference champs. I'd prefer top 8 conference champs though.

no I was mistaken. Top 4 conference champs. Bama would be eliminated. The way it is set up now, I don't think any conference champ should be guaranteed a spot. If AAC champ is ranked higher than SEC champ and is in top 4 then they go.

obviously you have no choice but to have a selection committee unless you just take all conference champs

the regular season is essentially the beginning of the tournament. win your division and advance. lose and you are eliminated

The Big 12 doesn't even play a conference championship game so they shouldn't even be considered in the playoffs? If they are considered then they don't have to risk that extra loss in he conference and have an easier road.

they actually play one more conference game than all but pac 12  I believe. I think they are playing a champ game next year. they would not have made it this year anyway. PSU would be in and OSU would be out.

there is no perfect system but taking as much subjectivity out as possible gets it closer. the way they have it now is just BCS lite. they hand pick 4 teams and then let the winners play.
