Bill Connelly's ranking system, whether you're a proprietor or not, generally gets it close to right when it comes to advanced stats. This complete list was posted on Twitter this morning with all 128 FBS teams. USF clocked in at #41, behind only Boise State in the G5 (and BYU) and tops in the American. The early projections utilize Returning Starters, Recruiting Impact and Five Year Average to come up with the rankings.

90. FWIW, UCF was ranked 71 so of course these early predictions can be faulty depending on certain factors. It's nice to see advanced stats back up what we all think 2016 can be.

In fact the only team in front of us on our schedule is FSU. What a difference a year makes.

good thing we dont play wku

when you have never won anything it is silly to look at predictions and projections because you must do it on the field

While I'm not a Cam fan it's hard to say the guy has never won anything.  Do a bit of research before yelling out the car window.

It's just flat out wrong to say it, but hey, it's smazza.

Regardless of what the ranking says its positive press which is always a plus. In this day and age in, CFB perception is reality. We can obsess over the rankings or use it as a springboard to bolster our standing in the CFB landscape. One thing still haunts us and it's the fact we generally don't close the regular season on a positive note. Outside of the bowl game this year, we finally closed in conference and beat everyone in our division. CWT and the staff now need to use this positive press as momentum to drive ST sales and prove to us that last year was a step on the staircase and not the final landing.

Me and preseason rankings don't get along. I like the good press, but it's basically just a way for these guys to justify paychecks until September IMO.
