  1. Seems to me USF, Cincy, and UCONN should be mad as hell and take it out on both our new conference mates and the Cower 5.
  2. UofL and Cincy are about two hours apart. ACC got Cincy's market when it got UofL. The next two adds (if they ever occur) will be UCONN and either USF or Navy. Cincy's done and they know it, which is why they lobbied so hard. And, in light of BC's open hostility to UCONN, it could even be Navy and USF. I think the reason got any consideration at all was due to this UCONN/BC dynamic.
  3. And if that happens, its no lock we jump UCONN or Natti to take their place. Need other ACC defections to Big 10 as well to ensure space to move on up. Interesting you cite to Swaim, considering he also tweeted earlier that he believed Cincy to be "screwed" because the ACC considers Cincy to already be in a footprint that they now have (i.e. UofL). That makes sense to me. So, I believe it's between us and UCONN if FSU and Clemson bolt. Navy could be competing with us now, however.
  4. Got it. We need FSU to go to the Big XII. I'm already up here in Tallahassee, so I'll get started on that...
  5. Sure we do. Our advantage is we're in Tampa, not Orlando.
  6. +1 More concerned about the coaches than the recruits... not to dismiss the importance of solid recruiting, but we'll have to take the Rays' approach - do more with less. I don't think we have the analytical abilities to do what the rays do. Moneyball probably would work in college football though. You're right, we don't have it now, but that's why it's more important than recruits...

  8. Now that our stadium doesn't have to match Minnesota's, since we're no longer one of the big boys, can we lay down plans for a 40K expandable OCS?
  9. BYU would be option # 1 but probably won't happen. Nevada or Freso State would be options # 2a and 2b.
  10. Good luck! Unlike Pitt and Syracuse, would love to see you raise hell in the ACC!
  11. Agreed. It would be better for everyone involved if we just did this kickball style... conferences with spots available should just line everyone up and take turns picking from among the teams looking to move. We could get it done in a day. If we get left out, fine. We pick up the pieces and get used to our new home. While this all sucks, consider this: we're significantly thinning our competition for the "Group of 5" major bowl spot. Now, if we could only put together a decent secondary...
  12. So tired of Woolard and recruiting in general. I know that it's important and there's nothing wrong with keeping tabs... But self-indulgent teenagers just aren't my thing. Got too much other **** going on to worry about where little Timmy is going to play college ball for one year before he gets busted for some stupidity and washes out of the program. Just me. So, in February, hope you're a Bull, Asiantii. But if not, we'll go with people who didn't jerk us around and truly want to play for our school.
  13. She's playing the political game Agreed. She's doing this in her current capacity as Big East head honcho. I wouldn't read too much into this.
  14. Cincinnati is desperate (we all are, but Cincinnati is like that chick that keeps texting you AND telling everyone that she's texting you, but you won't respond)...
  15. I don't know but... Aresco > McMurphy There's clearly a grand strategy at play here. I trust Aresco to make the best out of a bad situation. I'm going to give it time to develop. In the meantime, I'm going to focus on our horrible football team, because it doesn't matter what conference we're in - we're not playing very good football right now. And the fact NO ONE had ANY CLUE about what happened today strongly suggests to me that there are any number of things going on right now that we have no clue about and may ultimately work to our advantage. Optimistic, and perhaps a bit naive, but that's the approach I'm taking.
  16. University of Tampa will field first co-ed football team in hopes of joining Big East in 2017, per @gregauman. Goal is to capture women in the Tampa media market. #CuttingEdge
  17. here's to hoping fsu moves to the Big 12 I suspect that decisions have already been made on the Big East to ACC teams, and they've informed Aresco of their intention, which prompted these moves. What we don't know is whether and to what extent the Big 12 is involved in these discussions, such that the ACC may take more teams than we know about (e.g. including USF). I also suspect that the ACC would rather have Navy than Cincy because Navy at least has a national following. Again, this isn't just about competitiveness, because Cincy (and incidentally, USF) is clearly superior in that regard.
  18. Tulane? Really? Looking forward to those roadies to New Orleans...
  19. The last realignment wasn't based upon on the field performance either. USF didn't get into the Big East because it had performed well on the field - it got into the Big East because it was the best Florida expansion candidate at the time.
