  1. Guy's a UCiFer, not a lot of credibility IMHO. But I like his angle.
  2. The reason people aren't buying this (that he'll stay, regardless) is because he really SHOULDN'T be here past this year because he hasn't shown the slightest bit of improvement in the program (other than academically) since he arrived. So while I know what you're saying (everything we've heard to date suggests he'll stay through next year), many are hoping that USF comes to its senses and makes a change notwithstanding the buyout and notwithstanding the excuses (not "his" players, etc.) And your instincts about CSH are probably NOT wrong.
  3. What's this "feeling" nonsense? Believe it when I see it. Cincy is third best choice, which means ACC would be going to 16. Seems premature for them to do that because Notre Dame is at least a remote possibility. Why move to 16 NOW, unless ACC knows some teams unknown to us are already on their way out... consistent with yesterday's Greg Swaim tweet that Big 12 is reworking TV deal for more teams.
  4. Don't see it. Stadium is on campus but small. USF has almost a decade of BCS competition under its belt and several signature wins. USF has beaten UCF all four times they've met. I could see UCF paired with USF under certain circumstances but I'm not concerned that a power conference would reach over a long-time Big East team to what is basically still a C-USA team. Is it impossible? No, but highly unlikely IMO.
  5. Don't be so sure. They'd go kicking and screaming, but with the landscape of college football changing, they might not have a choice. consider ALL the landscape changes in college football since the game was started -- they held their ground. They are not about to change course now. They are that outlier-- the one exception to the rule -- so they get special treatment, along with the ire of most non-Irish fans, all the time. No reason to expect anything different is about to happen. They did what they needed to do-- they jumped ship on the BE to get a favorable deal with the ACC in exchange for part of their schedule. The ACC will defend them until the cows come home now as they are an ACC entity. They could not do this with the Big Ten or Big 12-- those conferences would have demanded full membership. The ACC is the bastardized version of the BE now -- with ND sticking their nose in the mix yet again. Even the NCAA won't push them into a conference. They are just that powerful-- like no other team in the country. It is what it is. You've convinced yourself. Good. Now we've got to just see what happens...
  6. Don't be so sure. They'd go kicking and screaming, but with the landscape of college football changing, they might not have a choice. +1 It may be unlikely, but I'd caution against making any absolute statements in what appears to be a very volatile environment. But I'd be surprised if either B1G or the ACC go to 16 without Notre Dame, for this very reason. Like it or not Notre Dame is the crown jewel and the mere possibility of landing it is more valuable than adding Cincy or USF as a 16th member NOW. Could be wrong, but that's my opinion.
  7. If the ACC goes to 16 with the rumored teams then there's no room for ND if it ever has a change of heart, for... Cincy? I could be wrong but it's hard to believe that the ACC would go directly to 16 NOW. I guess we'll see how the vote goes, THEN I'll draw conclusions about USF's options.
  8. There are 2 stadiums in the ACC that are smaller than Nippert stadium. I highly doubt stadiums have much to do with who gets in and who doesn't. Beyond that, like I've pointed out on a few other threads, UC has a preliminary deal with Paul Brown Stadium (Bengals stadium) in the event that they move to a large conference, they've played a few games there already against big opponents (WVU, Oklahoma, Louisville). i realize it sucks, and it puts me in a weird spot since i graduated from UC and now attend USF, but it is what it is, if the ACC isn't going to happen, we need to push for the Big 12, which honestly might be more stable in the long run. Sorry, but those smaller stadiums have indoor plumbing, not port-o-lets. If this is true FSU will do EVERYTHING it can to get the hell out of the ACC, which has always catered to basketball. And I agree with you that the ACC will soon be the the new BIg East.
  9. Very disappointing. Especially Cincy getting in before us. That stadium is an embarrassment, and UofL and Cincy should be in the Big 12, not in the ACC. I hate all of this.
  10. Because skip thinks there is no way we get 2 more touchdowns and he's quit. Or he's a moron. +1 Outrageous but not surprising
  11. That would require us getting back in FG range. I have my doubts on that happening They're in range now
  12. How much you wanna bet we try another field goal in this game?
  13. 20-3? I smell a fourth quarter comeback. And perhaps a four-year extension.
  14. Unfortunately, we're all getting the same game LOL! Indeed. It is unfortunate.
  15. If ACC takes that crappy program and crappy stadium over our crappy and nice rented stadium with a pirate ship, they can have 'em.
  16. Missed extra point... We got 'em right right where we want 'em!
  17. That's the play in the 1st quarter when your defense is (for now) getting stops God forbid Skip thinks outside the box That's not thinking outside the box. That is taking a risk early in the game that may mean instead of being down 7 points, you might be down 14 and be in the same situation as the Miami game. Late in the 4th and down a score, sure, go for it. Have you been watching our offense? We may be lucky to see midfield again tonight. We may not score, based on the look of things
